Agency work [3]

Specialised in web design and visual identity, I’ve spent over a decade shaping digital and visual experiences for agencies, startups, and creative teams. My background spans branding, art direction and UX/UI, giving me a strong foundation in both communication and aesthetics.

I focus on creating clean, intuitive interfaces that feel purposeful—not just visually appealing, but easy to use and aligned with real user needs. I design in Figma and build the site myself in Framer, or in code with Astro when a project needs top speed, so every design detail reaches the live site with care and consistency.

Curious by nature and driven by visual thinking, I enjoy tackling new challenges and helping clients bring clarity to their ideas. I believe in design that solves problems, tells a story, and connects people with brands in meaningful ways.

I’m Miguel Recio, a senior identity and web designer based in Zamora, Spain. I’ve been designing brands and websites for more than ten years. Today I work with agencies in Spain and abroad, and directly with businesses: hotels and restaurants, workshops and dealerships, law firms, energy companies.

I studied Advertising and Public Relations at the Pontifical University of Salamanca, then an advanced master’s in advertising design at Trazos School in Madrid. In 2012 I designed my first interfaces: an iPhone app for a San Francisco company, working remotely, and mobile apps as an intern at Appslab. I then spent five years at 1Mas1 Communication & Management in Madrid as a graphic designer, layout artist, video editor and art director.

In 2017 I opened MIREgráfico, my own studio in Zamora. Until 2024 I designed corporate websites, landing pages and online shops, complete brand identities with their guidelines, books, magazines, packaging and print. Running it taught me to take a project from the first conversation to the final file.

Today the brand and the website come from the same person. Figma is my main tool and I build in Framer, so the site you approve is the site that goes live. I start from how your clients choose, because a website is a point of sale: its job is bookings, enquiries and sales, not just looking good.

I keep training, with the Ultimate Framer Master Class and BONT Club, where Adrián Somoza is my mentor. I work in Spanish and English (C1), by video call or, if you prefer, in person in Zamora.

Your questions answered.

How much does it cost to work with you?

Every project gets a fixed price, in writing, before I start. I send it after a free 30-minute call or the brief. What moves it most: pages, a shop or bookings, languages, and whether we start from your brand. If the scope changes, you see the price first. You pay 50% to start and 50% on delivery. Fixed products have public prices, such as the website audit (€490 or €950) and template setup (from $690).

I have a deadline. How long will it take?

A landing page takes 2 to 3 weeks, a full website 1 to 2 months and a brand identity 1 to 4 weeks. On my templates, 5 to 15 working days from when I have all your content and the first payment. If a season, launch or trade fair sets your date, send it and I'll tell you whether I can meet it without compromising current projects. The exact date goes in the proposal.

What happens after the first call?

I send you a written proposal: scope, date and a fixed price. Once you accept it, I design in Figma and you see real progress, with the rounds of changes set in the proposal and requested in writing. When you approve, the site goes live or you get the final files. The project brief takes about ten minutes; fill it in before we talk and I come to the call having looked at your website.

I already have a website and a logo. Do we start from scratch?

Not necessarily. Sometimes a tidy-up of your current brand is enough to keep the recognition you've built; we decide on the call. I can redesign your website keeping its URLs so you don't lose rankings, or move it from WordPress or Webflow to Framer, also keeping your URLs. If you're not sure what's wrong, start with the website audit, from €490: it works on WordPress, Wix, Shopify or anything else.

What will my site be built on, and can I update it myself?

Framer or custom code (Astro), and you update the content yourself on either. Framer has a visual editor for text, photos and listings. Astro is the fastest, with no platform fee: content in a simple CMS, design changes through me. WordPress only as a custom theme designed in Figma, never with templates or page builders. I show you how at handover, with 30 days of support. Then, changes quoted first, or fixed hours a month.

Will my website be ready for Google?

Yes, the technical SEO basics come with every site: clear headings and URLs, fast loading, a site that works on phones, structured data, and each language linked so Google can show the right one. On a redesign I can keep your URLs so you don't lose rankings. For a law firm, each practice area gets its own page, so it can appear in specific searches. Articles, links and campaigns are separate work.

Will the website, brand files and rights be mine?

Yes. Domain, Framer or hosting account and design files: all in your name, and Framer bills its plan to you directly. On custom work, the intellectual property of the final designs is yours on completion; on a template, you hold its licence. Brand files come as SVG, PDF, AI, PNG and Figma. What you tell me about the project stays confidential, and you can take everything to another designer whenever you like.

Have you worked with businesses like mine?

Yes, if you run a hotel, restaurant, law firm, workshop, dealership or energy company: I design brands and websites for businesses like these, directly or through agencies. My projects show real clients first; concepts, like the one for a Toro winery, are labelled as such. Most of my agency work is under NDA, so I show it privately on a free video call: live websites and high-fidelity Figma prototypes.

Why hire one designer for both brand and website?

Because the brand and the website are thought out together from day one. I take both from the logo to the live site, with no hand-offs. What you approve in Figma is what goes live, because I build it too. Multitech Auto Repair is one example: brand guidelines and website. You can also hire either on its own: see brand identity and web design.

Why hire a freelancer instead of an agency?

Because you talk to the person who designs and builds your site, with no sales reps or account managers in between. I've been doing this for more than 10 years, and agencies hire me for their own clients: Ballistic Arts in Canada since 2025 and eMascaró in Spain since 2024. Scope, dates and price are in writing before I start, and everything stays in your name.

Do you work with clients outside Spain?

Yes. From Zamora, Spain, I work by video call with clients across Europe and North America. Calls, documents and messages can all be in English (C1) or Spanish. We start with a free 30-minute call, and I reply to messages within one working day. If you'd rather meet in person, we can do that in Zamora.

I run an agency. Can I bring you in on a project?

Yes. Agencies in Spain and abroad bring me in for faithful Figma-to-Framer builds, websites and interfaces, inside their own tools and process. The work is white-label and under NDA, and I only talk to your client if you ask me to. You can book me per project at a fixed price, by the hour or with a monthly block of hours. The agencies page has the details.
